When I was little there was a lot of bickering amongst the kids in my family.

It upset me so much I would sit in the hall closet with my hands over my ears. My sister would come get me and cheer me up--we'd draw pictures of ballerinas while listening to the Beatles on her phonograph.

That said, I think I'm going to go to bed early tonight.

I wanna go see my sis tomorrow.

Peace, sweet poets.

I was the elder - and with 8 years between me and my little sis...there were a lot of differences and estrangement with time.  But she reached out over the holidays...and I think a trip north to see her soon should be in the making...

I never thought to sit in a closet..I would just go to my room, as I was going to  get the blame for whatever anyhow

Have a good rest and a pleasant visit with your sister, Karen.

hugs

Karen, I only have one brother and I'm almost six years older than him. Even though I got so tired of him wanting to be right with me all the time, I love him to pieces, and always did. I still call him "Little brother" though he's a lot taller than I am. He lives thousands of miles away from me now, and I sure do miss him. I saw him Thanksgiving, though.

I have 7 brothers and 4 sisters.  We fought, sometimes, still do, but we always remember we're a part of each other, joined by genes, by something more than friendship, by a particular kind of love that only a family really knows and is able to recognize.  When push comes to shove, we never forget to hug.

We don't always agree.  I'm actually one of the black sheep of the family, especially now.  Even so, love of family is still there.  Family has roots that friendship doesn't often know, as I'm sure you realize.

God bless and big hugs to you.

Michael

the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn
