picture of car

on my way home from school today, on my way from nc to va, i had a little run in...

another picture of car   yet another one

well this is what happened...i was driving up I-95 doing the spped limit, miding my own business, when then i get clipped from behind, the clip from behind sent me careening into an eighteen wheeler, but it was the ones that have the flatbed trailers, so i went careening in to the trailer right in front of the back wheel.  that then caved in the back window, the passanger side of the windshiled, the passanger fender, hood, door, and roof...glass was flying everywhere, but i had to get out from underneath the trailer so i pulled hard left, and since i was stuck under the trailer i had to pull hard, so in doing that i hit the jersy wall, medium, what ever you wanna call it head on at 65mph, hit disinigrated my fromt end, the spun around again and hit my rear and spun around arain and ending up perpindicular to the wall.  my car is totaled, gone...but we only suffered minor injuries...my girlfriend was sleeping when we hit so she was laying down, she got a few pretty bad scratches on her neck and some shards of glass in her neck and legs as well, as for me my back is really messed up, the worse part was sitting out on the higway frezzing our butts off ataring at my car thinking this was all a dream...and my airbags didnt deploy which was a weird thing considering i hit the wall head on at 65mph, but the good thing is we both walked away, when everyone who lookend at the car said we should be dead, seatbelts save lives...they really do...so on this thanksgiving i am thankful for a lot, even though there are some hard times gettinf this strightened out i am thankful for my life anf my girlsfriends, she, we, could both not be here right now, i could not be telling you this story, so this thanksgiving i am thankful for so much more...i am thankful for my girlfirends life and mine, posessions and cars can be replaced, theses lives can not...

Well Eor yours is the second car I have looked at this year and wondered what is planned for you and also for my son who got in a terrible accident this year.  His airbags did not deploy either, so you wonder sometimes how safe vehicles really are.  I think both you and your girlfriend have a lot to be thankful for this holiday, and I would really monitor that back injury, and don't sign off on anything too soon now.  Glad you are both all right that is all that counts, but I know it must have been darn scary.

I thought you might enjoy seeing his car too so here it is:

I think we will all be giving our thanks on Thursday. So glad that the two of you made it out of that and I am sure your families are as well.  Happy Thanksgiving.

I'm really glad you are both ok! I also got rear-ended this summer which caused me to be stuck in a 3 car pile up. My car was also totalled and my bf and I spent the night in hospital with bad whiplash and cuts and bruises. I agree with you, life is so much more important than cars! Sometimes it really takes something like this to wake you up, atleast in my case it did. Hope you both make out ok with this ordeal.

A good friend's daughter just survived a back accident herself - the ER Tech kept saying "we don't know what held the car back" from going off an overpass and onto the Interstate.

Like I told her...there are angels everywhere.  I am very glad that you and your girlfriend both survived this, and that you appreciate with even greater fervor this "second chance" you've been given.  You'll both be sore for several days, perhaps even weeks, but you have the happy fact of being able to feel your aches and pains...

Indeed i am thankful for life this year.  I was involved in an accident this past summer which involved my Cherokee being totaled, three months of therapy and various drugs to control the pain and muscle spasms along with quite a bit of missed time at work due to the doctor ordering my hours to be cut back so that I could rest and heal better more quickly.  All of this was the result of a gentleman making a left hand turn acrossed traffic in front of me in a full size pickup truck.  We were traveling in opposite directions at the time of the accident, and neither of us was at a stop sign.  The speed limit was 35 miles an hour (and YES I did have my seat belt on.) and when this guy decided to make his left turn to go home he turned directly into the drivers side from quarter panel of the jeep.  When all was said and done he had spun me in half a circle coming to rest in a brick house and his vehicle came to rest facing the direction he just came from.  The only thing he could say was it was all his fault and he just never saw me...
DO I believe in angels?  You betcha! What am I thankful for?
The gift of life.  May you all have a wonderful holiday filled with love!

It's better than I could have planned..
it's made me who I am...

Hi, was just checking in to see how you were doing actually.  Every day is another day towards healing for my son (and it is a slow process), and I showed him your accident and finally he said, "boy I guess we were lucky!"  He doesn't remember his accident at all, funny how your body turns things off that it feels are harmful.  Well Eor, I was just thinking about you and your girlfriend and hoping you feet are back on the ground and you are less shaken up.  You were truly blessed.

mysteria-thank you so very much for your concern, and i hope your son is feeling ok too.  we are indeed both very lucky, everytime i look at the pictures i can't help but shake my head knowing it could have been much worse.  thank you so very much for your concern and again i hope your son is doing ok, my girlfriend and i are doing much better.  riding in a car for her is still a little nerve racking, which is to be expected.  but we are getting better each day, we hurt a little less...i am just not looking forward to sunday when i have to make that trip back down the highway for 5 hours...so thanks again!

eor, I am thankful you and your girlfriend made it through...I had a good one last year October 2...drunk driver...totalled my car and a Lincoln Towncar plus the car he was driving...he rear-ended me and sent me head-on into the Lincoln coming in the other lane...

He was driving a KIA and he was the only one that could drive away from the accident...(go figure)

I kow, it's scary. I had a new outlook on life after that...but now it's kinda faded....*shrugging*

Hey Eor, I just saw this and I'm glad you're doing okay.  My cousin got into a car accident and had some pretty serious injuries to his back, something to do with the disks in his spine.  He had to have surgery and could have died, but he's alright now.  I wish you the best and it really shows what a great person you are to look back on this and only be thankful for life.
