Ok his name is Jerry [Last name removed to protect privacy]. We met in a kind of odd way. It was at atrack meet and I was going around saying hi to everyone just to see who would say hi back. Actually i was only saying hi to guys and a friend of mine was only saying hi to girls. It was kind of like a competition to see who could get the most people of the opposite sex to say high to them. The first group of guys I said hi to were a group of Shepard guys. As I was walking away, I was about 50m away from them when one guy comes running up and asks for my phone number. he says that he would get five dollars if he got me to give it to him so I said sure because he had assisted me in my game. But I wasn't really going to give him my real number but then Faith, who is also in track and often hangs out with me, gave him my real phone number. I guess that guys name was bryce or something. So a while later we happened to meet up with a few of the other shepard guys. One of which was Jerry and the other was named mark, he was indian (with incredibly blonde hair and he was kind of hot, he caught my attention first). They commenced to tell me that they hadn't bet bryce to get my number that he had wanted it for himself. I laughed at that because it was so incredibly rididculous. Then Jerry asked for my phone number "to make bryce jealuos because he didn't write it down" and Jerry provided me with a pen. So I wrote it on his arm. I still can't believe I actually did that. And we talked for a little while. I found him to be funny and all even though i still thought more of mark than of jerry. After a bit I had to go back to get ready for my races and stuff so we split. Then we didn't really talk to them until we were getting ready to leave. Even though faith wanted to talk to bryce, she thought he was hot, she didn't even though I encouraged her. When we were getting ready to leave Jerry came over to where the chesaning tent was and was talking to me a bit then he gave me his phone number and asked me to call him. Then he asked for a hug and said he had to go. Then mark asked me to hug him, too. So I hugged them both even though normally I would never have had the guts to talk to them. Well then when we headed out to the buses we came near the shepard bus and jerry and mark and bryce and a weird guy with brown sunglasses and a bunch of other guys started tallking to us. And some of them even asked for my number. I swear to God those guys must all be completely nuts. So after a bit i said that we had to get to our bus and left but then our bus was right behimd theirs. So after we got on the bus we all started talking again but it kind of made me a little uncomfortable so I went to hang out with the chesaning guys and lindsay in the back of the bus. I later found out that the shepard guys kept asking about me nonstop and faith was annoyed that they didn't want to talk about her or ask her for her phone number or anything. She was the one who talked to them the most then so that's how I know. Jerry also gave me his email address before we left and asked me to email him and I said I might. And I did, and I called him later too. And he seems pretty cool and I think I may like him. But I don't really know him and lives way over in shepard, about 50 miles away from me. But I think I may like him. What am I supposed to do? And how am I supposed to know if maybe he likes me too? Any ideas????????????? Seriously I need some big time help here. I don't know if today is a good day, or if yesterday was, or if tomorrow will be, but I'd like to think so. [This message has been edited by Ron (06-02-2003 12:37 PM).] |

If he didn't like you, why would he bother to give you his number and email? Email him, give it a try.. "Being grown up isn't half as fun as growing up; these are the best days of our lives" |

Ok so I did email him and I've called him before too. And he seems sooooo great but what if I never see him except during track season and even then I wouldn't see him often. He lives 50 miles away and I'm just getting my license. I think I like him too. What am I supposed to do? This is an odd dilemna and I don't know what to do. |

You may think it is a dilemma, but it is all what you make of it. As a young lady, you will have the opportunity to meet many young men who may be the "right guy" for you. If something is meant to be, events will happen that will enable you to know it. Take one step at a time and never fret these type of situations. Best of luck! |

Well, you've nothing to lose in exchanging emails for a while, right? Ok if that's what y'all say then so be it. Thanx for the help. I really do appreciate it. I don't know if today is a good day, or if yesterday was, or if tomorrow will be, but I'd like to think so. |
