Hi there.
Well, I'm not thirteen, so I can't relate in
that respect, but I do understand what you're
saying.
I can tell you, though, that you are not alone.
There is at least one other 13 year old member,
and I'm sure there are others that I don't know about.
You might want to try focusing your energies in
the Teen Poetry forum.  That will give you a better
opportunity to interact with more of the people
your own age.  I am one of the Moderators of that
forum and I can tell you that it is a wonderful
group in there, and I'm sure they would love to
get to know you better.
I have noticed you in there a bit, but I'd love
to have you join us on a more regular basis.
I think you'll enjoy it in there, if you give it a chance.

Your poetry is more sophisticated than many of your age. I am happy you are here, and wish to reenforce this truth: there is no such thing as a misfit in poetryland.
Welcome, and please do not ever let age become an obstacle. Kacy

Welcome misfit.  I'm 50...going on 20, feeling like Methuselah.  I could not tell your age from your writing...I think, not only will you fit in Teen, but in Open, as well.  I'm going to enjoying watching your progression as a writer in the years to come!

I didn't want to write in Teen Poetry for a couple of reasons, but I think the main reason is that I have to deal with that stuff every day, and I just needed somewhere else to go. And my poetry had always been sort of open, so thats were I put it. But then I see all of you guys writtting about love, And iI am taking my time (unlike so many others my age), and who knows, I may never find the perfect guy. Sigh... But i am almost 14. Then I will be in high school, and feel like I am old enough to be here. Gosh, I have been keeping that in so long.

It blows my mind whenever I think about your real age. Trust me, to have your talent in "teen" RIGHT NOW would put some of the "teens" to shame.

Are you scared?                            BOO! Are you now?

You are doing something I wish I had followed through at your age.  You have enough confidence to put your writing out for others to see - me?  I was saying "you don't know enough yet!"  So I put my writing away for quite a while.  You have much to be commended on, and realizing that you are questioning yourself is one of the good things.  Keep writing, post where you think it is appropriate, and don't rush your teen years...they can be VERY good to you.

Wind, we absolutely LOVE having people your age join us - in any Open forum you choose...  I'm happy you've joined us in the workshop, and I like the enthusiasm I see in you.

I've taught your grade level for some time as well, and I know that there is some wonderful 13 yr old talent out there.  Keep it coming, my friend..

Hey, I'm only 14, hunn! I do know how you feel, though...some of the poems in Open make me feel so young and out of place. I don't post in teen, though, because...I dunno, I prefer Open. More people, I think, and more of the writers I really admire there.

But anyhow, I know what you feel like! You're not the only misfit.

Ahhhh Wind, You are not a misfit. You have amazing talent that should be nurtured and valued. I can remember being your age (even though it strains my brain to think back that far), and it was a time of awakening for me. Let it be for you as well. It's a wonderfully confusing and fun time of life. Cherish it my poetic friend. Chris

Wind when it comes to you and your writing you are ageless. You make too much of your age and I think alot of us are guilty of it also when we say things like, Oh my god I can't believe your 13, amazing writing for a 13 year old. It doesn't matter how old you are, you are a great writer and an integral part of PIP and we love having you here.

I was 13 once... for about 10 minutes.  Take advantage of what you have.  Enjoy it for what it gives you (although you won't recognize it until much later in life) and by all means, hang out here with us old folks... We love your company.

Thanks, but I feel better now. And I'm 14, not 13. I just noticed that the majority of this website is people older than me, and I wrongly felt that I was less important. But I was new, and didn't understand. I know better now

Sorry, I don't know how you feel, I'm 21.  You should look at it in a positive way.  I have read a lot of your writings and you do not write like you are thirteen.  The younger you start writing the more experienced and more articulate you will be when you get older.  I wish I would have started when I was younger, I would love to look back and see what I was thinking when I was younger.  Cherish the moment.

gosh, Wind, I had NO idea you were such a young adult...your poetry is from the heart, and your heart is ageless.  Cherish your teen years...even the bad ones.  There are some days I'd kill for that childhood I never had....

the years go quickly enough...

but excellent writing...and keep posting!!!

Hugs Wind!

I have a 16 yr old daughter. Can't say I always understand her but I sure love having her around.

I don't see why having you here should be any different.
