Ok last night I went out with a couple of my friends crusin'. Well it was about 12:30 at night or so and all the sudden we see a BIG group of black people and 3 white boys. Well The "BIG group" startin hittin one of the white boys and knocked him down and started kickin him and everything and then they all took off runnin'. Me and my friends and this guy we know all watched this happen so we took off runnin over there to see if he was ok, well he was barely breathing, he was layin on the side walk all twisted up and bruised, he couldn't speak, he couldn't open his eyes or anything so we called an ambulance and about 2 minutes later like 5 cops came and i ran up to them and told them what happened, They didn't ask him if I knew who did it? They didn't ask which way they ran or anything .. they just stood around the poor boy laughin while my guy friend was tryin to keep him alive. Dont you think if yer a good cop, they'd ask questions? And try to get who did this to him? I mean this boy had head injuries BAD. They busted out his teeth, he could have internal bleeding or bleed around the brain b/c these boys just didnt like him? I mean he didnt do anything to him. I watched how it started and how it ended. But I dont know how that boy is doing today. I just hope he's still alive. It's been bugging me all day. I hate cops even more than i did before. And it wasn't something you'd wanna experience. It's sad. I dont think there's really anything to reply to here, I just had to tell someone. I kinda feel better now that I could tell someone.
Who ever reads this thanks for listening

Personally, I'd tell your parents and have them help you report it to the chief of police and write a letter to the newspaper. If the police acted this way, there needs to be an investigation into it. Those who are paid to protect, should not make light of a situation like this.

You should definately do something about it. These sort of actions made by anyone are unacceptable. Use your voice.

i was at a car crash scene that involved a couple and a kid. my friend's an emt an he was trying to save the husband.
the guy died and we were taken off the scene when the authorities showed...
the cops never asked us anything, despite the fact we're performing CPR on this guy and keeping his wife (with a concussion) conscious and taking her vitals....
had we not said something before we left ("hey did you guys wanna talk to us. we weregiving the guy CPR..."), the cops and the emt's would lost out on some valuable info.
who trains these guys?
but cops are like the rest of us.
there's good ones and bad ones.

it's our struggle for identity that leaves us all unknown

That just makes me sad to hear. I hope and pray the boy is doing all right! I agree that something should be done about this, because plain and simple, those cops weren't doing their job. They're paid to protect and investigate, are they not? (correct me if I'm wrong, someone) Well the boy will be in my prayers, Alexia.

One thing to keep in mind....there are good and bad doctors, good and bad sales people, and good and bad cops....And the only way to weed out the bad ones is to report them. I've been around cops, in many cities, and most try to do what they can within the law, (some go to extremes and go beyond their legal limitations), but you do need to report this kind of ineptness asap...

That is unforgiveable behavior on the part of the cops, and law enforcement people should be asking questions at the scene, and documenting your words. Too bad you didn't have a digital camera and record the tragic event. This should be brought to the attention of the media and police dept administration. Don't wait a moment longer.  I'd try to locate this young man, and if an attorney becomes involved, you should offer your eyewitness account of the entire event, including the reprehensible police behavior. But also remember, there are lots of good cops out there who daily deal with society's unwanted garbage, and who really do have good intentions and serve in your best interests.

yeah, I dont know how the boy is doing or if he's even alive today. I hope he is, but I think the guys who did this to him should pay for it. The paramedics arrived about 5 or 10 minutes after it happened. They got there as soon as they could and they did there job. Them cops don't care all they care about is getting paid. There was at least 20 of us that seen them guys and all of that happen. There isn't anything I can do about it now though, I should of talked to the cops that night and I tryed they just didn't listen or write down anything I said. I don't know what else to do. I guess it's done and over with so move on .. Things happen ...
thanks for all your replies.

So sorry you hate cops.

Be sure to tell the one good cop you meet how you feel about him or her.

Oh, and be sure to tell the one that helps you one day ... or possibly saves your life ... how you feel about cops.

I didn't say all cops were bad ones. Just the ones that was there that night. I mean they could've done somethin'. Those guys were runnin and the cops got there like 2 minutes after it happened. So them guys didn't go to far ..

I am kind of curious..you said your  friends and you watched all this happen..and didn't so any thing til it was over ...

with all the cell phones that many teenagers are carrying today  why didn't someome call the police or 911 the moment it all started..then  the police may have arrived in time to catch those who  were beating the other up...why stand around and "watch" it why not try to prevent it...

just a thought for the next time...
