I'm sad to say that I just paid my last visit to a poetry site that I have been with for 4 years. It's a situation where all the "older members" have been sidelined by a bunch of uppity kids full of their own self importance, bad poetry, and feeding like parasites off of each other's pats on the back. It even got to the point to where I did not want to write anymore.

That is what I have always loved about Passions.....no cliques, no favortisim, just good people writing and sharing their poetry and themselves. I know I don't say it often enough, but this is just a little reminder to everyone here that this place, and all the members here, have given me back my passion for writing and it is a joy to be a part of of this site

Jonas,

Even though I haven't posted a poem here for some time, I’m still roaming about in PIP.  I couldn’t agree with you more when it comes to Passions.
This IS a great place to call home. A home filled with many caring and loving people!
I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!

I think you're right Jonas...the internet is like a huge desert and we wander around until we find the oasis that gives us what we need. PiP is that oasis for me.  It's nice to know you don't have to reply to every poem or every poet all the time. We're laid back, we accept each other as we are..writers in search of self expression. You are a joy to read (especially in Adult!) and I hope you continue to make this your main home on the 'net.

Hi Jonas... It feels good to hear that our efforts make a difference.  We work hard to keep this place comfortable for everyone - but - It takes people like  you to make it work... So, in turn - Thank YOU..

Jonas,

I completely agree with you Since I've joined this site, I rediscovered why I used to write when I was younger.  The people here are so great and wonderful.  Everyone accepts you with open arms and encourages you.  I owe more than I can say to this site.  I'm glad I can call it home.

Hugs,
Tara

Jonas, I came here out of a need to find a new home too, after about the same time at another poetry site for the same reasons.  I don't even know how I came across Passions that day, and didn't even get in through the right door, but I know one thing, I got in, and am staying until I can not write another word.  there are no favorites here, and because of the moderators, Ron, and the people it is the best run site on the internet.  So...welcome "home".

Jonas,
I was referred to Passions several years ago (translated "dragged kicking and screaming" as I had never publicly displayed my poetry before lol) by a close friend of mine after she read several of my poems. Posting here was a turning point in my life and I will be forever grateful for the memories and relationships I have forged here. I have finally found a place where I can express my deepest feelings through my work and expect that my "Passionate" friends here will read, critique, compliment and advise my poems in many beautiful ways. I am a changed man because of Passions and I have Ron and poets like you to thank.
                   Write on!

Jonas, I completely agree with you. And I am grateful to have found this home.I would never be writing as much, or even as well, without the wonderful support and friendship I have gotten here.

Sorry, but we do have a clique here. It's just a really, really big one....thousands I think. It's full of egos and things that go bump in the night, but somehow, we all bump around and have fun. Only an accasional meanie gets bumped outta this bed. Glad you are staying with us.

Yeah well, my ego's bigger than all of yours put together *looks in the tiny box that holds her ego* Er-- maybe not. Passions is home. We have a collective ego or something like that *resistance is futile* Oh that's enough outta me.

I want to die peacefully, in my sleep, like my grandfather, not screaming, terrified, like his passengers.
