I have many...or maybe they are dreams of what I'd like to see.  I want all children well and fed, all women treated with the most respect, color of skin to never matter, war to end, peace ensue, everyone a chance at the American dream and no one able to fall through the cracks, everyone able to read, all movies something you can take your children to see,
and the list goes on...so, what is YOUR fantasy?

I ask that you be sincere, okay?

Sincerely, I wish I could be me...and still be me.  I know that makes no sense (to anyone but me) but it's almost 4AM...so I am granting myself immunity from logic.
And I wish my friends husband had not taken his own life last night.
My wishes seem small next to yours.  But they are, as you asked, sincere.

Duncan..that makes perfect sense ...to many Im sure...
my wish is similar...I always say I want to be the me I used to be, before I got so lost inside of me. (if that makes any sense but to me)
And so my wish would be for that -- for anyone who feels lost...
I wish the feelings of lonely was one emotion no one ever had to know...
(and of course all the lovely things Michael wishes for the world) ...

and Im still dreaming of a beach sunset shared with someone special...
Im 43 and never seen an ocean...
but that seems so small in the big scheme of things like Peace.

I have to agree with Janet, exactly. Those are my dreams, plus a little of Serenity's too, to be able to support myself by artistic pursuits.
I have all those world peace dreams too, but they feel so hopeless lately. In fact, in the history of the world, we had the longest stretch of peace over these last 50 years.(we, the US, not the Middle East, or even England and Ireland, they have never had a break that I can see) I guess it's over, anyway.
My biggest personal dream, everyone already knows..to live in a house on the beach, in California, with someone that loves me lots. And my grandaughters live right down the beach a little way.
How's that for impossible.
Well, I just woke up to the first snow here, may as well think sunshine.

I want to work at a job that I love, make enough money to pay my bills, write when my muse hits me, see my kids often and have all my friends find happiness.

my fantasy is to find proof of the nature of the universe - whether it agrees with my ideas or not, but absolute proof, one way or another... and no, i don't mean "the existence of god," because statistically speaking the incredible unlikelihood (something on the order of googleplexes to one against) of the universe evolving as it has WITHOUT a "design" is enough to convince me.

i mean, the actual nature of reality - how does it really work? what is it all made of, what powers it all, how does it work?

i don't think that one's likely to be fulfilled in my lifetime, though. oh well.

fantasy?
What do I want? everything.
All that's ever mattered: I've had.
If asked what I've done in my life? anything.
And for all the people I love: to be happy.

I want to walk through a garden with grass at my feet-
And listen to the wind and again feel complete.
I want to write of the pictures that I can not paint-
For then, all my passions would be taken without restraint
I want to tell my secrets to the world, then see who would still be at my side;
So then maybe, just maybe I wont have to hide these tears I've cried.
I want to watch the sun rise every morning without haste;
So, that every morning I will remember that life was not meant to waste.
I want my fate to be the one thing that no one will  forget;
Then I could wish upon a star with my destiny already set.
I wish that I could take one piece of myself, for you here today,
For you to keep, for you to remember,that this is the me I portray.

1. Truly master the guitar
2. Be in a very well known, very much liked band with profound lyrics, and a message to throw out there to the public. Oh, and be very well known and liked for a number of years.....at least 8 hehe
3. Have a happy marriage and 2 children that meet the expectations my parents had for me.
4. After the band, devote myself to writing poetry, philosophical notes, and magazine articles about music and the like.

That's about it.

To shack up with a beautiful and barely legal lass on a thousand paid for acres in Oregon with a private lake and a quarter acre of sensimillion backed up to a national forest with a log cabin large enough to accommodate a library of rare and ancient texts and poetry. To do so without the aid of fossil fuels being as independant as to permit only an occasional foray into what passes for civilization to resupply and be reminded of my desire for solitude. And of course to elude the limelight of my status as America's Poet Laureate. Hey, you said fantasy didn't you?

My fantasy, I happen to believe will come true.  It is similar to yours in many ways... that humanity will enter a glorious age of perfection.  Sedition, war, and hatred will cease.  There will be no hunger, disease, or maltreatment.  The honor and nobility of what it means to be truly human will be restored.  Ultimately there will be no more death.  We will enter into an eternal existence where our full purpose will be realized ... our identities will truly be who we are and not just what kind of job we have.  Art, music, and every high expression of humanity will come into full and infinite fulfillment.  Creativity and Love will have unhindered liberty.  Every person will be a being of unfathomable majesty and divinity.  Every person will be a son or a daughter of the one true and living God.

Of course all this will be fulfilled in Jesus Christ, for those who believe in his Kingdom and coming.  I just can't shake this fantasy from my heart.  And interestingly enough, the most noble fantasies of others (Christians or not) are hauntingly similar.  Because it is more than something which comes from a book.  It is something spiritual that we thirst after in our deepest selves ... in our spirits.  It is Eternal life.

Stephen.

My universe is what I see before I die.

My fantasy is to someday be happy with death.  I want to die without fear, without uncertainty, with only a sense of satisfaction that I have done my purpose on this planet and made some kind of difference.  Right now I believe that my impact on the world will be my poetry.  So that's what I'm going to do... I am going to learn poetry, train myself in writing, and eventually share my work with the world... there's so much that I have to say, and I want to be able to say it in such a way that it will be remembered.

That's my fantasy.

Poets are the unacknowledged legislators of the world.

Probably to be "normal..." And yes, I know that I argue that there is no normal to everyone else who is in my boat.... but I'm IN the boat now for sure, and I know.... and I agree.... It's a really bad place to be. I apologize for the boat cliche. I'm just too tired to think. My eyes are burning, but I had to come and check up on Passions before bedtime.

To effect society at large before I die.

I know life can so easily end up like every other life that has been lived, enjoyed but easily forgotten. I want to be remembered for having had a great affect the lifes around me and ahead of me. To not be forgotten, to have changed the tide.

If that's not possible, find a love, live my faith, and do my chosen profession the best I can, in some meaningful fashion. To have lived honorable, couragously, and admirably. Hopefully, love and faith will always been there.

~Titus
