Okay have you guys ever been to a restaurant and the waitress was just so rude you couldn't believe it? Well, listen to this!
I took my mother out to lunch a few days ago. It was a nice deli and I ordered a ham, turkey and swiss sub with no tomatoes. She jots down the order on her notepad and doesn't return until half an hour later! Half an hour to make a cold cut sandwhich!! So, I open the sandwhich up and there is tomatoes all over it! I call the waitress over to the table and nicely explain to her that I am allergic to tomatoes and would like her to make me a new sandwhich. She huffs at me and snottily says "I'm busy, Can't you pick the tomatoes off"
I responded No I can't pick them off, You are the waitress, I am the customer, therefore it's your job to make sure my order gets corrected!
She yanks the plate out from in front of me and rolls her eyes.
I turn to my mother and say Can you believe that woman! My mother is more passive than I am and she never complains when things aren't right.
The waitress comes back and slams the plate down in front of me. I inspect the sandwhich again and it has tomato juice all over the turkey and some seeds in it. By now I am really aggravated and I call the waitress back over. I say Ok what does it take for you to get my order corrected?? I didn't ask you to pick off the tomatoes, I asked for a brand new sandwhich and I really don't need your attitude so just go back there and get me a new one!
She comes back with the sandwhich finally and at that point I had lost my appetite and sadly for her she lost her tip.

How rude!!!!, If she keeps that up, she is going to lose more than her tip, she's going to end up losing her Job. Maybe that would be a lesson to her. Did you pass this information on to the manager Rose Petal?
If not I think you should,  I mean what if you took her word and not checked the sandwhich the second time? She obviously needs a good flick around the ears and if she doesn't like or need her job she should give it to someone who does!

Umm..
Thats when you get the Manager or umm..you could just try to insert the plate into places of her anatomy that usually don't allow such passages?   ROTFL! Umm..sorry. You're better than me. By that time, if I hadn't called a manager, I would have lost my temper or something.

Jeez.....what a little so and so!! Why didn't you just get up and leave? You didn't need her attitude and judging from her behaviour, they don't want your money.

Maybe I'm just a girl...interrupted.

You know, I always try to have a little sympathy for waitstaff in a restaurant. They get paid lousy, they have to deal with people all day long, and they are constantly on their feet.
HOWEVER...ther is never an excuse for rudeness...you should have informed the manager right away...then wrote or called the general manager if it was a chain. She is just going to be rude to the next person taht comes all along that doesn't like their sandwich to look as if it were bleeding.

Honestly, I was THISCLOSE to informing the manager about it, but..I didn't want to seem like one of those customers that are chronic complainers!
I let my mother finish her food and I sent mine back and it was taken off of my bill because I told her I didn't want it.

Boy I'll tell you what.... If it had been me...
she would have lost more than her stinken tip!
And I agree with an earlier comment about having to deal wth rude people, angry people yelling about their order that is not their fault, but the cheff's etc.
BUT....they chose this job, we didn't choose it for them. They can DEAL with it!

Rose Petal, this is a terrible story. I too, would have asked for the manager, when I got the sandwich the second time so he could see the tomato juice on it.

Sorry Irie, but I work in the restaurant trade and believe me, we don't always choose the job. Sometimes there is nothing else. We have customers who are wonderful right down to the other end of the scale.
Some days it is extremely hard to deal with special orders, depends on how busy it is etc. but there is never any excuse for rudeness.

I agree that waitresses deal with a lot of rude customers plus they are on their feet all day but...forcing a smile never hurts.
You can't be a waitress unless you really are a people-person!

Have to agree with you, that was extremely rude and poor service. I always used to be quiet about things like this, and now I speak up. And I feel better for it, too!

Being in food service and hospitality (not a waitress, but close) I know that both sides can suck. I bet that waitress had ten rude, annoyingly picky customers who weren't as polite as you were. Ones that whined and moaned over little petty things that weren't her fault. And you just got the brunt of her horrible day, unfairly of course, but still.

And on your POV I'm allergic to dairy products. If the waitress forgets and I forget to check, I'd end up extremely sick and possibly stop breathing. So, yea I could see where you'd be upset. Besides, rudeness can really ruin your day.

(big huggssssssss) Oh Joanna, I am so so sorry that your mother was treated so badly at the restaurant. (sad sigh) Some people can be real jerks, and my heart goes out to you and your mom for having to deal with the offense of this person and hurting her feelings! (big hugggssssss) God Bless You, she needed your warm hug at that very moment, for you are a sweet angel and your heart always beats with love! (sigh) I love you, sweet Joanna! (kiss on cheeks) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Joanna, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

MMMM......MMMMM....MMMMM.....SHAKING MY HEAD IN DISBELIEF...

I'm afraid that is the moment that I unleash the Titan!!!! The manager SHOULD have been called, for had you had an allergic reaction to that sandwich and needed medical treatment, the restaurant would have certainly been held liable. The manager needs to know these things. As for the waitress, I would have taken those tomatoes and given her an upclose demonstration of how ketchup is made!!!!

(serenity exits, flexing her muscles...ow)
