Life, and all things encountered within it. My muse...

or..
sometimes my muse changes from one thing/person to another.

Geesh..am I wishy washy much?

yes. . . we all have muses. . . they can be people, places, things, states of mind, times of live, events, emotions, feelings. . . you name it. . . it can probably be a muse. . .

what are mine??  how much time do we have??  LOL

my muses are love, life, the search for the unknown, the desire to know. . . people. . . to understand, to question. . . to seek out that which is hidden. . .

hmmmm. . . I wonder if the Muses themselves ever wondered about those that called on them for inspiration??

I believe in muses. Sometimes I have no flow of inspiration or ideas on my own. The writers block sort of thing. Then all of a sudden if I meditate on something or allow myself to let things sink in long enough, WHammo! It's like a flood of things I don't usually have. But mine is very hard on me. I can't think of anything else until I have purged that bit of me. I'm driven by it...sometimes crazy! LOL.

My Muse is what compells me to  absorb...thoughts, feelings, and how it sifts through my heart and soul. She is that which speaks to me from the inside out. It could be something as simple as the color of a rose...to the universe and souls that touch mine. But one thing I am certain of...An old soul is she. As I have been told that many times...and feel it.

A very interesting question. I think you'll get many interesting results.

Sincerely,
Regina

Ah yes. The mighty muse. She's around...somewhere. The only way she ever actually comes into play and does anything is when there is a great disaster. I thrive on tragedy (writing wise) so when things are peachy, I don't write. When things are shocking, she comes out and the hand never stops.

Muses. Hmmm.....my inspiration comes from many places. At the moment a chat with a special friend can send me running for pen and paper and I won't be seen for days.   (Or a chalenge from someone will do the same.)
Other times, sitting in the bush or on the beach will do things for me when I am blocked.
My two beautiful daughters are always sources for some interesting work. So many things can get me going, and I really enjoy it when they do.

Ah Lady, should you search for the word "muse" among the vast pages of Passions, you shall find many who beg her to come again, wonder where she's at, offer tributes, and thank yous...

there are as many muses among us, as there are angels...

yes, Lady, muses abound...

LadyOfShallot~
LOL ... those who know me ... learn to know my muses~
Yes ... I guess you could say I believe~

Each precious muse brings a gift of thought I didn't know I had~
They are companions of the pen, throwing my ink about~

I currently work with (or they work me) sixteen of them~
Each bring distinctive personality and subject matter to the inkwell.

I have come to know them all by name~
They keep me on my poetic toes~

Nice topic to be able to talk about~
Thank you~

I'd never really thought about muses til I came to PIP and heard everyone else talking about theirs. I've been writing since I was a teenager. Usually about lost loves. Whoever or whatever my muse is comes and goes. Sometimes I will write a lot for a few weeks, and not write again for a long time. I hadn't written in over 5 years until a few months ago when some words just crowded into my brain demanding to be written.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

since I only began writing a few years ago after my father died, and I discovered the internet ...I never really paid much attention to the question of a muse. I can write anytime, anywhere about anything if I want to. But most of mine comes out of need for now. So I am not sure if I believe in anything special other than the spirit within me. And I think that now that I have begun to move the right direction in my life that I would probably not even be writing if it wasn't for the enjoyment on passions and the friendships, although distant, that I have acquired. It makes  one want to share their words...with others who enjoy the same.

I certainly have learned alot about poetry, words and people. ~softsmiles~

Tracey, yes, I know what you mean, I wonder sometimes myself!  Thank you for your thoughts on this subject!

Maureen,  I understand completely what you're saying.  Sometimes an event spurs us to write and other times we just go with the urge.  Actually it is more of a passion isn't it and it is a learning process. Thank you for your thoughts.

Wayout...you have a great sense of humor and fun-loving spirit!  Thank you

Alexia, yes, sometimes I feel lost too!
Don't worry about it! Thanks for peeking in!

I think I have one too, but sometimes I lost her somewhere. Maybe because that I started to write last year. So I think my muse is a bit shy to come out, and tease me so now and than.

Course there are muses my muse has changed so much and they can be so annoying when you lose them. But for that moment when you find them again and start writing is the best moment of all
