After asking my self this question over and over again, I thought I'd see what you all think. What do you think about Soul Mates? Here are my thought so far. I do believe that soul mates exist, but finding them seems to be the hard part, if they are found at all. And if you do find them.....what then. Will life be all peaches and cream. Will one never leave the other? Will they always be happy? Etc, etc...... Yes, they do exist. Yes, finding them is the hard part. The secret is not to spend your life looking, you WILL find each other (it took me close to forty years). When you do, just enjoy the experience. It may or may not last forever, I try not to get that far ahead of myself. The problem is that folks look for their soul mate... the very action is contrary to the idea of two souls, meant by fate to be together. I believe that soulmates will connect in life - as long as we don't confuse the situation by looking for them. Once you begin looking, you begin seeing your mate in the darndest places - those relationships are the ones that do not last... I believe in soulmates, but do not believe they are always destined to be together in a love/marriage/relationship. |

I do believe that soul mates exist and if they truly are soul mates, nothing will ever come between them and they will always be happy. I agree that you cannot go out looking for them, it is something that just happens to you . . . a chance meeting perhaps. I think if it does not last, then maybe that person was not your true soul mate, but someone you were meant to learn a lesson from instead. Your soul mate could be your best friend even . . . they are not necessarily someone you are meant to marry or have in your life forever . . . but rather someone with whom you have a long term relationship with. . . be it friendship or marriage. Just my opinion!! I do agree with all of you in saying that going out and looking isn't going to find them for you. I too think that "bumping" into each other is the way they are discovered. One thing that never crossed my mind was that it could be a best friend. That is a very good point. Thanks to all of you for taking the time to read and respond.  ~Sheri |

I believe in soulmates. At times, It's the only hope that keeps me going through the endless line of shallow guys and short, pointless relationships. When I become smitten by a guy, I know that if it is meant to be, it will be, and if it isn't, something better is waiting for me. But at the same time, I don't sit around and wait for my soulmate to find me. You have to search them out. I go through these short, pointless relationships, knowing that they will prepare me for something better. It can be disappointing at times, think that this guy is the one, to find out that he isn't... but then I smile, because I know that I'm one step closer to the one I'm meant to be with, a step closer to happiness. Yes, I believe in soulmates. False gems may shine as brightly as the genuine article, but there are always those who can tell the diffrence. |
