Serenity, many people don't experience the joy of life until their "why" becomes a "why not?"

Serenity, we were all being a little flippant with you. But the real answer to your question is hard. We all have to decide if/when/what is worth it.....

I am absolutely right behind ya there Serenity, sometimes I wonder why I bother getting up in the mornings....cuz the day has turned out to be such a loss...but other days....(on a particularily good grind day at my espresso shop and the shots are right on....*wink*) I KNOW why I keep on keeping on!

My apologies, Nan...didn't mean to ignore you...was just half-asleep....but I guess if I have come to any conclusions at all--it would be just this--it's difficult to know what the point is or even if there is one at all while in the midst of whatever it is that is the puzzle...at least for me anyway.
and the point of the post?  It helped me to think...and vent a bit too, so I thank you all for listening...

serenity... I'm going to answer your post with some quotes from "Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy"

- "To me, boxing is like ballet, except there's no music, no choreography, and the dancers hit each other."

- "Sometimes I think I'd be better off dead. No, wait. Not me, you."

-"If you saw two guys named Hambone and Flippy, which one would you think liked dolphins the most? I'd say Flippy, wouldn't you? You'd be wrong, though. It's Hambone."

- "I think a good novel would be where a bunch of men on a ship are looking for a whale. They look and look, but you know what? They never find him. And you know why they never find him? It doesn't say. The book leaves it up to you, the reader, to decide. Then, at the very end, there's a page that you can lick and it tastes like Kool-Aid."

- "The crows seemed to be calling his name, thought Caw."

- "If you ever reach total enlightenment while you're drinking a beer, I bet it makes beer shoot out your nose."

- "Frank knew that no man had ever crossed the desert on foot and lived to tell about it. So, he decided to get back in his car and keep driving."

hope you enjoyed... sorry, i have no serious answer to your question because your question is deep.... all I can say is, what helps me through is finding what's funny and laughing at it...... humor works.

and one more Jack Handy quote-
"I hope life isn't a big joke. Because I don't get it"

And I was just assuming you simply meant a noun, because you used the definite article 'the' which usually precedes a noun.  I guess I could be safe and type out all the verbage.  But, I'm not quite THAT bored.  Now, it's just a matter of which of those 35 you were referring to.  You weren't all that clear.  *grins*

Oh yeah, and I read your poem in Open, but now I'm too tired to make my way back there and write a proper reply.  Remind me sometime after I wake up, and I'll get right on that. *sleepy grins*
