You are more than one other? How many? Not asking the names, just the number!

Hey, Angel! I don't know about you, but this is my one and only name but it's not really my REAL name (but you knew that! Didn't ya?) *wink wink*.

My REAL name is Leonardo DaVinci, Artiste Extraordinaire, and I freely admit that every Thyme I post something! And that's more than some people do around here. Some people only have a posting nom de plume. Some, like you say, use several posting names. Personally, I don't like to hide behind a facade. I like to be myself and let everyone know who I am. Y'know?

But Justin Kace you didn't know, these Looney Tunes who moved in are driving me NUTS! Now that you mention it, it might be a good idea to come up with a different name to post by. That way the Cartoons and the Cratchet won't know who I am and will leave me alone!

It's good to seeya, Ms. Angel. I won't pressure you to know your other "nicks", I promise, ok? Just keep posting! I like what you write. You're almost as good a writer as I am a painter, and Leonardo DaVinci don't paint anything shabby, that's for sure!

I think that secret identities are as important as they are fun. Everyone deserves the chance to be someone else. Whether it be darker or brighter, we all have more than one face. I have a few but I'm not at liberty to say what they are or how many.

I must be the only person who uses my real name. I figured if someone I knew came upon the forum I would want them to know it was my poem they were reading. I dont care who knows my name. I dont think it matters enough to hide it. It is just a name.

I'll give you a serious answer on this one, Justin Kace anyone is listening. I think it's Justin Sayne the way everyone is using different names to post poetry around here. I've had Justine Uff of it too....
I Ain' Miss Behavin' any more..... or any less..... All right, maybe sometimes I'm Miss Behavin'. All SeriousNess aside, I post poems under my own name exclusively. Geesh - If I ever used pseudonyms to post behind, you guys would think I never write anything!!!!

I think I have 5, I was trying to count and can't remember if in a fit of weakness I made others I have since forgotten. Those of you who know me well, know some of mine. I believe Nan is probably the only one who knows ALL my nicknames, but that's what friends are for.

LOL... Nan, you're a trip.

I totally agree with everything you said though and I also agree with Jennifer Marie (hi, Jennifer), because I, too, post under my real name because I want people to know who actually wrote the poem. Now, I know a lot of others using several nom de plumes but I wouldn't want to open a Pandora's Box or anything by spilling the beans.

My take on it is this. No matter what name you use, isn't Passions fun?

I can't believe any of you would use an alias...why I think I'd rather cut off my ear first, or remain forever unknown...hehe.
Angel, I can think of four of yours, including one you'd probably never admit to...is there actually 5?

(Shhhh... I wouldn't want Michael and X Angel to hear this and be forever disillusioned. I mean, we don't need to tell them their poetry is so incredibly good, and so uniquely distinctive they could use no names at all and we'd still know it was theirs, right? Let's just let them think they're fooling us, okay?)

What's an alias?

Oh, you mean THAT kind of alias -- I fear 'tis as Ron said, some people simply write too distinctively to allow it to fool anyone. **sigh**

Who knows, perhaps I'll take another monniker and start pulling the e e cummings? No caps, no punctuation -- sounds liberating!

Well, I started off as Alastair Adamson, which is my name, back when we were still dealing with Open Poetry (back in the dark ages at the onset of this new medium). A few days later, after seeing the influx of so many names and aliases, I decided I had better jump to it and secure my favorite nickname, Alicat, before someone else snagged it. So there you go. To find the first handle, you must venture forth into the dank and dusty archive labeled Open Poetry Archive #1...way in the back.

I could see why someone would have a different alias for Adult, but why so many different names?

I am the captain of my soul.
