To frame a face
its shape tells
the cut to follow
refreshed look
with familiar eyes
snippet here and there
closer cut now
fair weather peeks
a load is lightened
twigs loosened, fall
scrawny wood additions
to fall compost
foreheads breathe
between larger limbs
linen wraps catch locks
curls and loose hairs
bangs bend forward
precise snippet
newspaper edge reveals
reveals yet another coiffure
she stands on high heels
brushes away residues
a reflection meets her eyes
closer look now
mastery of a new self
and a voice says no
to cracked mirrors today
"I have a trimmed look,
only one eye has to show".
