she leans against
ocher painted hill
settles heavy skirts about her
takes the shade of blue parasol
for she must wait
till the sun slides
behind the mountains

her gaze falls into
tear rivulets
where the light hides
slow moments

sun fingers the sides of mountains
whispers
watch
I have done it before
do you doubt me now?

she shudders
sun
explodes onto rock
painting the
mauve of his kiss covered eyelids
lilac shadow of his hands
royal saffron of his kingly name
and the
true red of his rock heart

colors climb the mountains
dawdling
in crevices
peeking about rocks
tormenting

her heart is still
waiting

swiftly
the sun gathers his colors and sweeps them skyward

night is sudden
a fast falling of dark

she closes the parasol
sees no more

You painted the picture so well, I felt as
though I were there...nicely done.
