to dream
in black print
sauce in a white bowl
well mixed
overflowing

the glisten speak
of mind waters
blending with oils
of night ink spend

smarts of eyes
hand covered
sound zips past an ear
shhh
let me hear the shiver of it
nerve endings
so exquisitely tuned

the gypsy strums
a violin with wind
mirrors of clouds
are the echo's mouths
chanting their prayers

butterfly flaps a wing in chile
causing trembling
confused speech
halfway ‘round the world
laughter
hands full of tears
lightly lifted
more?

as colors of rainbows
with wing boundaries
what god draws circles there
on the wound of tears
when the shadows dance
their undulations
under forgotten oceans
tides without moons
to guide their confusion

no dammit no
no
yes
more
please more
lying across
thumb soothing cry mouth
lip fit to lip
warm belly spoon
sleep
to dream
once more
in black print

there is the yawning dawn
on tomorrow's train
arriving on schedule
predictable
like the empty tracks behind
when look backs rewind
but become memories again
playing with themselves
slowly forward
