First Dance!

Fire leaping drums are pounding keeping time to Mothers heart
beat, starlight sparks in midnight eyes heritage as old as time.
Spirits speaking to each other draw her forward looking for
him, dark skin in the firelight glowing moving forward flutes are
calling.
There is a stillness on the air quiet excitement as all
prepare, tonight for the first time she will dance reaching out for
him to join her.
Her heart still fearful hoping he will be here, can she stir the
warriors blood, will he accept her hopeful love?
Now the time she moves forward body swaying feet are moving, eyes
close then slowly open he is there and she becons with her hands in a
dance old as time.
All now is quiet waiting breathless then he smiles and in the
dance he joins her, before all he has accepted the love she offers.
Joy fills her being all she ever dreamed of is finally coming
true,as they dance the ancient Dance of Courtship for everyone to see!

Honestly I would have loved to be the man in the women arms. The dance of this poem moved my eyes from line to line. ~Bill

Your words do much justice to the "dance of courtship" which I consider to be one of our greatest miracles.  Much enjoyed!
