.

Snow falls slowly
Through frigid air
To lie upon an open field

There is an old house now
With a single lamp yet on
A tall wide pine in the front yard

Deer still move in the woods nearby
Occasionally the clouds above
Will part to reveal a stolid moon

A night owl calls

The lights of that village
Left behind so long ago
Reflect and glitter
On the silent bay

.

I like the stillness here, and the way the moon is stolid.

Thank you all

I write in soliloquy
or apostrophes directed to someone not here
which seems generally unattractive to comment.

Thanks again.
