Existence

Existence sits upon a shelf
Thinking how it started itself
A conundrum it seem to me
Though I am but a speck of be

I twist and toss a part of course
To be or not to be this force
I echo me from heaven to hell
And quench my thirst a wishing well

An element of chance I be
Five senses light my cake you see
And I am eaten piece by piece
Those the terms of existence lease

If not for change I would be bored
I cannot see eternal stored
It’s change that makes the party wild
And each new time I am a child

While existence sits upon a shelf
And contemplates beginnings self

I found the imagery very graphic, without the words being graphic,

Then found myself reading, then rereading,

Before thinking, about speaking

How well you captured just being and existing.

An interesting poem, something I will spend more time thinking about I'm sure... It's kind of hard to take it all in at once, me being me I'm kind of dense, I think I need to go back and read it once again!

Thanks for sharing this piece, I find it to be quite... refreshing?

"While existence sits upon a shelf

Great thoughts to ponder here Sy.
But I feel I may go bonkers if I think about it too long.
So how 'bout your inner child come ride the merry-go-round with my inner child.

Not to worry, thank you for the comment.

Nancy,
And we'll grab for the brass ring of existence. LOL
