Power or fear

Are we as Christians, just complaining
When we could be firmly exclaiming
The power of the written word
So throughout the world it’s heard

Do we shrink in fear of those opposed
Depicting them as giant foes
Forgetting that we hold the stone
While in Christ, we’re not alone

We can bring the giants down
Through the WORD, it has been found,
Not force fed, to swallow
But in living as Christ, whom we follow

No matter the numbers that oppose
Remember the walls of Jericho?
If we would heed and quote our Lord
We would hold the sharpest sword

As the anti Christ storm intensifies
We will hear more twisted lies
For Satan knows the scriptures
He’ll tweak to please itching ears

Remember the water Peter walked on
Seeking Jesus, his fear was gone
Then considering the storms strength
Overcome with fear, he began to sink

Celebrating Christ’s birth this year
Are we filling with more faith or fear?
It all depends what our eyes are on
The light for our path, or blinking neon

Thanks for reading and responding.  I  could've posted this in Spiritual Journeys but perhaps most who go there already know.

Well the last two lines make a very hard punched statement m'dear Rae, and a wonderful one going out to everyone today or any day.  Loved those last two lines.
