When Lucy walked into my life… bliss was all I dreamt,
The lazy days on silver seas to me were heaven sent.
And all because of Lucy… she shone a purest light,
And life for me began - when my eyes did Lucy sight.

For one brief year we fell in love and sailed the winds of life,
And then we reached another realm and she became my wife.
I remember still her golden smile that spoke unending love,
And blessed was I on Earth below and blessed from high above.

She was the air that fills me - she was my final breath,
And life seemed full of hope 'til I learned of Lucy's death.
For then the world seemed empty… and empty still my soul,
For snatched from me was Lucy… with a grief I can't console.

Now looking back all those years to a past when life was bliss,
I think of our times together… of her eyes, her smile, her kiss.
And when to God I'm called and I stand before his grace,
I'll turn and once again behold... that smile on Lucy's face.

Poetry is just the evidence of life.
If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash. "
