No More

I really don't exist.
My life is a facade,
playing all the evens,
they've all turned out too odd.

I'm done with knowing who I am
that never satisfies,
not me nor anyone around.
It's all a ton of lies.

Farewell, goodbye and all the rest,
there is no more of me.
I am not even worthy of
the words once thought to be.

I can't go on with hopes and dreams
that never really were.
My life is just facade, you see
with everything a blur.

I can't compete, it's not my style
but chances were not there.
I am just me, that no one knows,
unless you strip me bare.

Compare me to another,
and I will lose, I'm sure.
So once again the empty comes
into my opened door.

M,
I like the way this flows. And I see you are good at fiction too! Peace...

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Maureen,
Hell just shut the door you know the old saying. Laugh and the world laughs with you.
Cry and you cry alone.

sometimes, some days, the proof of our existance lies only in degrees of pain.

OR--

sometimes, some days, the proof of our existance just lies?

(I'm a fine one to cheer you up, huh?)

I owe you an "e", I know--but sweet friend, I owe you so much more than that too.

Feel better soon--this time of year can be emotionally grueling, I know--so if you need an ear, I'm here. (and I am shaking my head and laughing here--as I typed that, I realized I have my husband's work issue earplugs still in my ears--but that's not because of you good people, ya'll are so nice and quiet! )

Know that you are loved.

Larry C, methinks you know me too well...
thank you

M

Marge, it would be fun to get together again some time... Santa probably will be skipping me this year as he has for the last few. Long email sent...
hugs back

Nancy, everything just "is" at the moment but I should have expected it to be so.

Sy, I have that door shut tight now...and crying alone isn't such a bad thing.

Karen, well I live in pain, emotional pain and probably will for the rest of my life.

I understand the long time between e's
but that's ok..I know you have more to deal with than any one person should. Your ears don't need to hear my woes, I have just  learned not to trust for now.

Thank you for your kind words.

M

secondhanddreampoet ...well sometimes the truth hurts when you realize you aren't who you think you are anymore.
And it's too late in life to meet other's expectations.

Maureen, you are who you have always been, no matter of the circumstances in your life. Change can be so inspiring, like a rebirth! Seek it always...never sit on the surface of a dying pond. Sometimes you gotta hold your breath and go deep, make a commotion and see what you can stir up.

You are loved by many, including me.

one added note:

as far as meeting people's expectations? Life isn't about that and if you live it that way, you'll never be fulfilled.

Life is about what you set your standards to be and living up to those...YOUR standards. Those other people aren't going with you when you leave this earth.

Maureen, W. Clement Stone said "• There is little difference in people, but that little difference makes a big difference. That little difference is attitude. The big difference is whether it is positive or negative."
I positively know you to be a different kind of person

Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Maureen,

You most certainly are a worthy and compassionate person and fine poetess!  I have enjoyed reading your poetry over the past few years and feel like I know a small speck of you.  It grieves me to read this because I think you are a very caring and special person.

Be well, and think about all the students you have affected in a positive way.     Lucky them!    And, as evident by the number of posts here, you have lots of friends.

I hope tomorrow brings a better day.

We shout "NO more!" so many times in life.

But we are more resilient than we thought...brace up!

take care.

M I think we all can have days like that. I hope all is going well. I know this time of year can be so stressful. That said I hope you have a wonderful Holiday season.
