Time Leak into Slip Side of Laughter

On the slip side of laughter
she empties her pockets
and looks at the sand
still feeling of Mexico

Memory is cunning creep with a smile
of the dirt room and foreign hole
where she had let out the remains
of midnight and the ocean

I see how it moves now
even the cuddle long and thick
comes back in the taxi cab
and the cold scallops
opening doors for the flies

I am not a donor
and wave them gone
as I see her sitting there
with her eyes somewhere else

The sore is buried now
and rising to the top
is something I can talk about
in the patio with wine and familiar
taste of the sea
feeling the leak of time

This is very complex, and extremely
revelationary in that you hear a woman
whispering a life ago
and the wisdom of understand this
because it was
the way it was
evermore and ever so

and the wine pinks a sheen to twilight.

what Kari said Martie, exactly.
It is so nice, when we come to that point in our lives where what was so painful we thought we couldnt get passed it finally journeys on far enough, that we can perhaps remember, and smile.  HUGS YOU

Had to come back to library this one...

Is there more to the story?

I hope so...

MartieSis~
Time and again I've returned to this one~

'I see her sitting there
with her eyes somewhere else'

... yes ...
and in the vacant of her look
I find myself, deep in thought~

Laughter slips in ... and I smile
with easy knowing~

Martie - I think I interpret this in the same way as Gentle Spirit but then I think too that I'm missing something.  In any event it's always a pleasure to receive the gift of your words. Thank you!

I see what Gentle Spirit
and Honeybunch see
or maybe feel...
and this says much

So many of your poems lately, are difficult to respond to...because there's more said than spoken. You have a subtle touch, and you use it so very well.

There are things we all bury in the past (sometimes forced to hide), for some everything they knew of another life time, but our roots and histories are never hidden from our own view.  We remember...

Exquisitely written, Martie.

Such an incredible poem.  Finding ways to express the inexpressible and sorting out what is better left unsaid.  You said this beautifully.  I'm so glad to be reading your words and thoughts.

Martie, this is a deep one....I believe that Ratleader has pulled out the words I might have posted.  Your writing was always good, but I swear, it just keeps getting better, if that's possible.   ....jo

I knew there was a good reason
for putting this in my library...

I needed this, today.
