Search and rescue?  No, no, no!
The fog in descent heavy
and the air like icicles
in this welcoming of spring
meant to grow a better birth
into new beginnings.

Many years the rain has come
and clogged the wheels of fate
with the mud of lethargy
that to turn, turn, turn again,
alone like planet earth
a too bothersome ordeal
for the will in me to leave.

So, I tap-tap the pictures up
in pretend commitment to
what so long has always been
while the sinking into dreams of you
forestalls upon the edge of life
until again its silent rise
into consciousness.

Sink/rise, sink/rise; grab at anything
but in the sink, the last and final sink,
only love will raise me up
above the lies and dreams
to make of my eternity
a place of endless peace ~
but and, oh, but, but,
I think I have to think it first
here on planet earth!

.... I have these same thoughts (and I wonder if, as they say,  "loving one's self" is ever enough)

M - No, I don't think so because it's not in our natures but there are so many things in life to love even in the absence of a ... lover.
Thanks so much for the read.

You know I know the truth in this poem, awesome Helen.  I do like the determination you show at the end very much and agree....but it is so hard sometimes.  Many hugs to you, dear friend.....jo

Thank you, Kate.  I very much appreciate the read.

Jo - getting harder and harder, you know, but of course you know.  Thank you for the read and for understanding.  :squueze:
