From mystical hands love’s heavy load
drops bit by bit down to the ground,
a solid base for heavy hearts
to stand on and be uplifted.

Somehow I walk to the side
of ground always under my feet
and avoid like a plague the sand
because there’s dust, the dust of love,
that threatens my surface composure.

And somehow I can’t see the worth
of putting my best foot forward
that first demands a commitment
but somehow I do survive
with no base to springboard from.

Love underfoot and somehow I feel
old shoes of complete independence
will keep me forever removed ~
but tomorrow perhaps I’ll divest
and walk barefoot in the truth.

Tomorrow, tomorrow; let nobody say,
“Sand never can blow away!”

Love is All there is ... may no prejudices stop you from "walking barefoot in the truth"!

Thank you for this great poetic performance, dear Helen.

Love,
Margherita

Your poetry has become rich in it's wisdom, and far seeing honesty.
Wonderful lines here.

somehow, you know when it's worth the burning sand to endure the comfort of the ocean breeze

Helen...I guess in the end that it's not where you walk but how you think you walk that moves you forward.  I always enjoy your thoughts.
