A road trip
shades down in the sun
buzz of flies
dawn comes to the
smell the hickory smoke
unbleached rides
and a park for you
set across highway 89

now the neighbour wakes
on route 40
dog needs to be walked
roadside ditch
for that call
but the shades are low
trailer park can't see
when the misses washes up
releases that city look
the road trip jumps
from map to plan
embraced terraced vineyards
spotted yellow twine
down to breezy parks
while you walk nowhere
'cause its the trailer
that takes you
transports the spirit
like a hammock
takes a weight
swings away
to the rhythm
of transpired heat
clears a vision
homes on wheels
off interstate 210
a junction on
another side
welcomes
forget the tent...
