             PURPLE GOLD AND GREEN

Another moment has past her by
Somehow the past seems to repeat itself
With the same as before, speaking of how
They will save her, making her twice
As she was before, as they go there
Way, with all there worthless words
Leaving ones to stand guard over her,
As she lay in dismay

If only they knew how she wanted too
Gather herself up, they would surely stop
The pain she holds within herself
Many months now has gone, as a whisper
Of wind to the night so dark, leaving
Little more done, than the day after
When she laid in the mud, wondering
How this was allowed to happen to her

She looks out upon her gown of purple
Gold and green, only to see it no longer
Shines, only the mud shows the outlines
Of what was her, so many places of
Precious hopes, seem to have no soul left
To seek refuge from what is left

They say she is damaged over 80 percent
But surely is not the 20 percent left
Worthy of the fight to save her, from
This that she has suffered so,
Many have been restored, from such a davastating
Injury, so why should she not be given the
Same opportunity to survive as the rest

With some surgerical improvements, she can be
Even more than before, but she must be given
This chance, not talked about till she has
Given all she has to give, with her last breath
Of dignity

So my friends, lets give the lady this helping
Hand, before we loose something, that only in one's
Lifetime has the opportunity to do, to save
A great Lady, from destruction from within,
By the ones that would do little more,
Than talk her to death, by there words of nothing, With even less effort, than this from them

The lady lies in wait, awaiting her KNIGHT
In shining armor to arrive, to save the day
And her from this horrid of nightmares, she
Now lives in, is there not a KNIGHT in this
Place, that dares to carry her scraf of
PURPLE, GOLD AND GREEN

A whisper of wind in the dark so deep,
Sire,,,we are in need

A salute to every iota of life.  All life is precious in God's eyes and wise, caring  people. The depth of feeling comes through in your lines.

Oh, my... you leave me breathless with this weep for a city that could be gracious or gaudy but was always glorious.
