I know you dont remember all the things you've said and done
This Disease thats taken over is hurting everyone
To see you struggle day by day
Not knowing just what to say
To ask for simple pleasures
The right words would be a treasure
I cry myself to sleep at night wishing I could help
To erase the pain I see in your eyes and the frustrations that youve felt
The pills the doctors have given you dont seem to do much good
Your thoughts are so scrambled they dont work the way they should
Simple things become quite a chore
Tying your own shoelaces spelling the word door
I wish I had the answers to make you whole again
To free you from your prison where the walls are closing in

Love and Light, Blessed Be!!!

I'm sorry that you're having to go through this fo I know your pain all to well. I'm watching my grandmother, who was like my mother, go through the same thing. You worded it nicely.

Thank you for your wonderful comments! This was written at a particularly difficult moment in dealing with my mother's dementia. The worst part is she was only in her late 40s when it started and is only 54 now. Thank you!
