It was a night of dreams spanning years, it seems
before an ambled walk towards disavowal
but still in the forest of tangled conspiracy
bough and leaf keep at bay complete acquiescence
to the light of day.

She struggles to the edge and suddenly she’s me,
a mermaid on a rock telling sea of all her dreams
and watching silently as they float away
on the tides of time and of human life.

And as the sun rises the heat of no return
sends the mermaid diving to the bottom of the sea
to swim forever there searching, searching, searching;
where are her dreams that one day are meant to be?

She knows a dream must hide in the rocks of soul
and she goes from nook to cranny a woman on a mission
never rising to the surface to breathe in falsity
for she can live, you see, in the underworld of dreams
close but far away from what the eyes can see.

Ask yourself today – are there mermaids in the sea
and then you’ll come to know they’re simply you and me
in a sea of humanity searching for a dream!

Thanks Sunshine and LeeJ!

I agree with you LeeJ - amazing "creatures" naturally bond with each other otherwise we couldn't survive!
