It has been so long - he cried

Lets look at that first line

What had been so long - they whispered
could he be talking about time
yes i think he probably is

Is this person really a he - she said
hey i might not want to be a woman either - she said
stop that - the person yelled in anger.
well i wouldn't say i was angry just a little cross

But we were talking about that line

Yeah sorry my bad maybe the person isn't a he is all i'm saying

Your right lets change that for you

It has been so long - the person cried

maybe it isn't a person?

what do you mean?

well maybe its a alien or a god or something

Good point, good point

Maybe we should just look at the words themselves?

Ok that might do it

It - what is it?

Maybe it is time they are talking about

what kind of time?

is there more than one kind of time?

well there is the time between two points the time on the clock or somethings path through time as a bigger thing.

Maybe It is just a snake or a bit of rope

I don't get it

Maybe 'It' has been long and now it has been cut in half and now is shorter.

Good point again that eh...man...eh that person.

So know 'has what is has?

In the past

yes i think we can all agree on that.

but can we?

yes it says so in the dictionary.

Ok i'll give you that but it feels different somehow

well we'll leave it for now

How a bout been?

could mean 'being'?

it what?

it could mean being?

but it says been

that could be wrong, it should maybe be being?

but why?

i don't know it looks like a better word

but it doesn't make sense 'It has being so long'

that doesn't matter it's a poem doesnt have to make sense

It was at this point the poem died.
A hundred hands stopped prodding and it slept.
Maybe if we did it in pink?

Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

'I prefer chartreuse'-she cried.
'But why?' It came back,
and what could he vouchafe?
'Alone, too long, so it has been.'
The snake lisped, frightened of the tongue.

Nan (Pilgrim variety)
