in toledo
el Greco paints again
spring is an explosion
de flores
of flowers
fiestas
Spanish cielo
sky
absorbing life

viejo cementerio
weeds so tall
I beg my way through
to find
what I don’t want
faded
gris verde blanco
gray green white
stone
shaped like my heart
letters faint

mi picare
mi padre
mi barco
mi amor

my rogue
my priest
my boat
my love

en ese mismo momento
la memoria
at that very moment
the memory
speaks

blando cantando
soft singing
   aquí miente tú vida
   tú corazón
   here lies your life
   your heart

small toes peeking
dark eyes
that know the reason I am in Spain
Maria Isabel
steps from silent grief
con rosas
white and pink
y con dos besos
two kisses
one for each cheek

it bleeds
your heart
si?
llore
cry
mi dama
es bueno
es su razón
it is good
it is your reason
para españa
for Spain

ven aqui muchacha
come here girl
but la niña is gone

Moorish Spring of Tears
seizes my throat
still
even in Spanish
I cannot cry

Beauty shines in your work.
It is purely poignant
and your words wrap around me
and hold me as I read.

Hi, TL,

"  here lies your life
   your heart...

   ...still
      even in Spanish
      I cannot cry"

Purely magical...heartbreaking but magical.  Also, intertwining the two languages, Spanglish, if you will, gives the whole write a distinctly lyrical quality.  Well done, a beautiful write.

Yes,
A gypsy is the heart, a gypsy.
The mood here lay beautifully beneath the sunset sky.

Lady

I remember my Spanish words with sky and love, and yes, the heartbreak.  Lovely, emotive and lyrical, this.
