seal of reason Sunset proclaims a pompous descent falling into earth’s great billowy folds & my pale face learning what the hypnotic eye claims as it’s own daring confidence illuminating future’s path seemingly blue waters of yesteryears still the soul numbing flesh this dominance triggers a gang banger breath of flame with wings where “would be” combustions mumble whispers from sky screams finding those winding stairs drawing dots of purple horizons connecting them with farms and villages eyes look with absentmindedness upon men squinting across worlds hardly human taking notes while watching the stars pouring cataracts into voiceless fountains where atmosphere sits upon some sunlit cloudburst throwing pebbles & thunderbolts in the way pacing back and forth like mean lions striking such a blow of superstition one can hardly understand that priest in the body of motion fragments of bone whispers like eggshells shattered here and there the world’s laws, glancing at revival missions of madmen praying trembling from glimpsing truth learning how to look up to heaven visioning only small things from the peaks of tears only to guess the great part of it giving a whole new meaning to “free as the wind” |
