Between the Lines

0 posted 2006-06-10 06:43 AM

That day of year is upon me
"alone with my thoughts again" time.
Words held back for "the sake" of the ask
that lays between each of these lines.

Two years uncelebrated,
except in the losses of such.
Missing are happier moments,
(being held for the reason of touch.)

So to contemplate life as I wish it,
pretending is all one can do.
Knowing the never will happen
and the empty will see the night through.

Somedays are a long way off,
just stories to fill the mind.
The tides will shift and the sun will rise
and the wondering is all I will find.

The walls are still filled with writings,
shared with the lack of intent.
Remembering a time
when that tree was the climb,
to that path reaching out, I lament.

This was what touched me the most, then I am not sure if I can never give up on my own dreams.
Or to do so, would mean to die trying

Thank you Poet

Barry..well I am getting another year older and it's been at least 2 years since I have been able to celebrate my  upcoming birthday as my sister was first diagnosed and in the hospital on my one birthday and the next one she passed away and last year was the laying of her grave stone. I am just hoping for a calm day...even if alone.

Yes, Nancy that is the  side view of my house..but that tree is now gone..was cut down during the winter as it was dieing...
I have the remaining large cut pieces to  either dispose of or figure out how to  use as  some type of ornament with plants in them as they can't be cut yet (the saw chains keep being ruined by the hardness of the center of the tree)
my house

hugs
M

What a lovely write Maureen, and what a charming older home.... love it!!
Too bad about the tree. Yes, you must make something out of its remains.
Enjoyed this, hugs, Chris

I like....
The language is reminiscent of the post holocast speak in the last scene of a Mad Max movie.  Each word counts...concise

Excellent!
The fun days and sad days with our sisters, or brothers, now gone.

But I remember the best of times as you have penned in this line:

"Remembering a time
when that tree was the climb,
to that path reaching out, I lament."

Beautiful to remember.
Terrible to even think of forgetting.

God Bless!
