The Truth About Love

Love is sadness in disguise
the touch that makes us porous
we bargain souls at first kiss.
But to careful lips
who have slept past the dreams
and the infamous shadows
that lurk beneath the promises
and the roses
suspiciously proverbial
we taste the wolf in sheepskin.

It is felicity, futility
the clandestine rummage
flaunting every temptation
rescinding all liability
seething salt on the sultry flames
of a parody devil.

It is necessity, agony
the grandiose facade
of camelot, elysium
the dichotomy of
the first bite of the apple.

We think love will save us
warm us
enrichen us
yet, we must remember
that the road to heaven
is also the gate to hell.

Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. Emotionally I KNOW that Canada is the best country in the world!

Well, I must admit that I have kissed some hellish wolves in my time, but I never gave up on finding true love. Maybe as with most things of great value, it takes alot of searching and hard work to obtain it.
  Always enjoy your words Melissa.
Be well. hugs, Chris
