Trapped by walls of darkened grey and lost there just to dream
Of views to take me far beyond the places I had been
Until a light of wishes hope appeared to help me see
Just what becomes of hope and thought and what could further be

Trapped by darkness of the night, which I had thought would stay
Until a blind of windows sleep just moved and fell away
Revealing more than one could dream, such visions of delight
I saw mans pot of gold displayed, through rainbow coloured light

I must have slept for such a while not knowing I had been
Until this window in my mind showed more than I had seen
I stood and felt fulfillment take me past my field of sight
It took me way beyond my bounds and ever from the night

A window opened in my mind that helped my eyes to see
The scenery that makes a life seem more than it may be
I watched the day, but differently, and now each seemed to sing
Amazing when the mind can see; you capture everything

I realized then with clarity how life is just on lend
That we are born and given time until the blessing’s end
But also the importance to open eyes to see
And look through all the windows, so to find what's there and free

Your inward glances
reveal life's chances
and daily romances
with the written word...

You speak to all, knowing
that life can be glowing
and there you are showing...
what your heart's heard...

Thank you, Rick...

In a few short words...smell the roses while
they are in bloom, for soon they shall wilt
and die..

A well thought out write,  thank you Rick.
