To Feel Again

To feel such a strong emotion
I had once felt with you
is something that would be hard
for me to let myself do

Just to take a chance on
feeling such pain again
with promises of love
I just couldn't stand

Words, is seems to me
never is the truth
With all my heart
I had trusted you

Still it seems, you didn't care
you took everything for granted
not caring how I felt, for your
love it seemed was just pretend

When I had no choice but to leave
you wanted me to come see you
It seems you had lost your mind
to think I would even want to

You had made your choices, and
they didn't seem to include me
All I wanted at that time was
just for you to leave me be

You told yourself, and me too
I couldn't make it on my own
One thing you seemed to forget is
for many years, I had lived alone

You were not there that day
when I walked out the door, and
to me that was a clear sign
you just didn't care anymore

I'll never know, what I did wrong
that made you stop loving me
It no longer matters now, for
I am enjoying all the peace
