even as I sleep
I travel
farther and further
away
from that boy
whose only destination
was to rest
in the hammock
of god’s smile

I don't find this to be tranquil, breezy or uplifting at all....but that's a compliment....I read your poem as a sad acceptance of a child's innocence seeking God - only to realize in adulthood that He isn't always so accesible - even in dreams.
Powerful, poignant and so very sad - a reality for many of us.....I have faith in God, but also relate to the distance, the walls.
