Reply from my son...  to When it is Time to go

Nice poem Mom :

But I would rather you be here for me

You have been so since before I sat upon your knee

To read those words sadden me and make me wince

After all your life has not ended

Your needed here because all is not mended

You can still put a smile on my face

As when I was a young boy and won my first race

My child hood was great and I still laugh when Memory

Brings back that crazy Henry

Yes my friends may have thought my Mom was a little off the wall

but she bought delite to all

You have been like the wild dove

fancy free and full of Love

I make no promise not to weep and cry

But my memories will never go dry

LOVE Tom

Marty Jo, this is precious -- I hope someday my son will think similar thoughts.   ....jo

Thanks Jo,

His memory of "Henry"
was my little ploy whom I brought out once in a while when he was just a boy.
I used a funny voice and used to beg to be let out to play.
It often helped to brighten up a day. smiling at his remembering.. martyjo

this MartyJo, was heartwarming...it's nice to see your son so dearly loves not only his mom but also cherishes her words of poetry.  Hugs to you and yours, and thanks so much for sharing.

Naked thoughts and LeeJ, thanks so much. Tom is the eldest and at fifty five has remained the sweetheart he always was. He has the longest memories and he benefited ( or not lol) by being born when I was 18.

Hugs, martyjo

It is forever humbling
to bring the children
into the light of the fold,
is it not, Martyjo?

Karilea, yes indeed, like the wild flower garden he planted in his yard and told me  because, "always had a garden in ours"

Dixie, thanks, Even grown up "kids" are a joy. martyjo
