I left the land
of big folk
for the place
where lizards run amok
sand is fine white powder
little people run the house
and my world

bare bottom babies eat lunch
in Daddy’s favorite hat
smearing blueberries on brim
small girls strum red ukuleles
on the patio
giggling
louder than the storm
and tiny boys pick Mama’s prize hibiscus
as a gift to her

oh
how she loves them
the boys
and the flowers

I lie on the red chaise
wiggling bare feet
Cuban coffee in hand
smile

grandchildren are sweet reminders
of time past
require nothing of me
except love and tickles

ahhh…

bring me more
coffee

and grandchildren

Their beautiful sweet smiles touched my spirit.

Kate....hearing your joy of grandchildren made me miss my own.  The tender watchfulness of one and the exuberance of the other can take my breath.  How lovely is your love!     and mine

Kate~
I am so totally *giggling* ...

'you should have seen what I
was wearing...
they keep you young'

This day, Landry has decided that her ~Poet~ needs to wear 5 'ponies' in her hair ... yes, she has tenderly coiffed me with 5 ponytails, each with a wrap of a different color ... Now, here's the clincher ...
the doorbell rings ... ~Pony-tailed Poet~ goes to answer it ... and COMPLETELY FORGETS that I'm wearing 'ponies' ... LOL ... no wonder the community supervisor gave me THAT look !!!

It honestly wasn't until he left and I closed the door that Landry reminded me that she liked my 'ponies' ... ALL FIVE OF THEM !!

Now we're playing 'dress-up' and tomorrow my own hairdresser will just LOVE this story as she works to re-coif me~

I have 6 more that live here!

Martie, no tongue could ever tell how we love them...
kiss them for me
thank you

thank you LeeJ
kisses to your little heartsong

oh Marge
your story is delicious!
I would have loved
to see you in 5 ponies
shhhh.. I was wearing Mama’s “Dorothy” dress
no ruby slippers
and multi colored scarves
tied to each wrist
I was sooo divine
lol

thank you, Passing Shadows
now hie thee back to thy
grandbabies…
that's where the love is

They are nice, like a ray of sun shine on a rainny day. Also dark as a moonless night, alseep with peace in the heart. The priceless future from the past. With the heart of the destany of 100's ( years can't spell sometimes, one thing Justbleu keeped up for me )
