Part of my front yards garden delight...5-19-2006

In lavender abandon
stretched toward the open road
this rose of spring
these cascading wonders of color
expose their fragile elegance
as you pass and look
your dog leashed and eager

I see from the window
as you soften
your vision inhaling
the open petal invitation

Heel to the notion
I think to you
across the lawn
for this bloom is so transient
a velvet that succumbs to minutes
and through the dark and dangerous night
will not linger

Breathe it into reverence
though your tether is bounding
it is still
and in its blooming
cares not of mortal whim

it would make me smile
-----
2000...2006 with small changes...thanks sissie for the help with the photo

YES!
this is poetry
and photography
and the art of the heart
all flowing together
a keeper.
What an incredibly beautiful, inviting garden.
I could sit there for days and not care whatever went on outside that mini paradise.

...the nastysturiums of memory,
my memory, the ones that don't
bloom in October, were a must,
divided, multiplied, sanctified
for May dreams, as May schemes
to remind, rewind, reline time;
and for this, ever grateful am I
to that which is more, to what
which is more, to evermore, in some
evergreen, in ever love...

knowing in kind
your mind
in line
with
mine....

Welcome back Martie (b/c I haven't said that yet).

The picture and poem are equally beautiful..

and made me laugh b/c I got a "non-compliance" letter from the home owners assiciation for the condition of my yard...Martha Stewart I am not.

Funny thing is, I rent and have never received a copy of the "rules" that they were referring to in said letter...lol

All that because I envy those of you that do have the ability to grow such beauty in your own yard..

Oh! Martie! Martie! Martie!!!  This is too much beauty for me to take in all at once!  I will need to think of it the whole day in order to take it all in.  I love the poem, the photo of your garden, the poet, Sunshine who helped you with the photo and the replies of everyone else!  What a wonderful way for me to start my day!  Thank you!  We are supposed to be cheering you up, but you are cheering us up!

Oh, and I forgot to add, the exquisite title DEMANDS the poem to be read!  Often a title is promising and then the poem doesn't match up to it, but your title leads into a poem that takes you much further into the feeling of abandonment into pure beauty!

(smiles) Yay! Oh Martie, we're all sooooooooooo happy you're back and healing, as with any poem and your friendly heart, you take us away into poetic, fanciful abandons deep into the calyx of every flower and beyond, yay! (angel friendship hugs) I love this, dearest friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

I would sit with you
in lavendar abandon,
and laugh as a child laughs;
grinning with you,
and, I would cry
shedding tears,
while sharing fears
and joys
as kaleidescope rainbows
danced above and through..

in lavendar abandon
I would sit with you
languishing on such a day
graced by your friendship
and the light that
shines my way...
every time that you smile...

Martie, you are such a delight. To me it
seems you speak with the beauty of the flowers,
and with such elegance. Thank you so much for
sharing your love and light with us.

I have always wanted a yard overflowing with flowers, but deserts and water shortages are not kind to flower gardens...
