bony old tom cat
wailin’ round my door
howlin’ hunger

twining round my legs
tail held high
purring whispers
lapping from my best sugar bowl
with a tongue
that’s been God knows where

I can tell by the way
you seek comfort of a warm lap

I love strays too

I had one at work who took forever to trust me but finally he got to where he would sit in my lap...but then he got a girlfriend and she liked hamburgers and chicken nuggets better than my gourmet cat food so they started living at McDonald's...oh well
