perhaps i slept
in earphones
of bareness

twas the fever
my missing teeth
knocked me unconscious
with

an echo of sky
walks past the bars
carrying a model
sweet like a woman’s sigh
good nature watches
people running together
hearing the hum of a
thousand conversations
with painted faces of twilight
warm and busy

rowing through hairpin turns
with flashlight imaginations
warming the seat of my mind
always returning bright gold
laughs of small talk
that hurries past microscopic detail

some nights…
i hear the wind of summer
wavelets of light shining down
from a brilliant dark velvet sky
separating dark roads
from moss covered river banks
nature wears an olive green trench coat

dropping swollen letters on oceans
with the vibrancy of young boys trading cards
there is where i chose to reside

What is amazing about your work is that I can take any part of it, and know that it could stand solidly alone, and while I could do this with any part of your poem, the ending here is my favorite:

"nature wears an olive green trench coat

dropping swollen letters on oceans
with the vibrancy of young boys trading cards
there is where i chose to reside"

What a fantastic tactile image there, Lee!

much enjoyed and oh how I learn from you!

Your words always have so much in them that I find myself saying  (I felt that, I know just what she means)  With beauty and talent you weave a vision I can take into my own life...thank you...*big hugs*

Love this verse.
A vivid expression of
simply living.
Keeping it simple.
Excellent write Lee J....as always!

an echo of sky

even these two lines are a beauty on their own ... I agree with Karen's comment, I always think that too when reading your flow of creativity that holds such richness!
