Rewrite:

The Mote

A mote surrounds my ego’s wall
Protects me from the wherewithal
A fluid wile of subtle style
That hosts this flesh and bone, this pile

Took years of mortar and invent
To build this wall of stone cement
From labors of the sifting sand
Of grain on grain to build the land

Each wonder of my leisure mind
That took me years and years to bind
And now I have a castle high
With mote that circles green in fie

I walk the ramparts night and day
And watch for ghosts that come my way
Those phantoms that would pass within
To make a blemish on my skin

Today the mote has welt with grime
And ego’s wall has melt with time

You are a wise wise man, dear Seymour. Every word you write shows that you have grown out ego, but it's true it doesn't mean that it doesn't come back to try you!

Great thought provoking write.

Love and hugs.

Shore up the walls, dear man, for the magic you weave to share with us has a strength that cannot fade but feeds the soul of our hearts with vision and delight from an artist and great knight....*big hugs*

...and too, my mind might wander on a whim
but for the moat that's think or thwim!
