Not To Mention
~*Marge Tindal*~

"A dream is a wish your heart makes when you are fast asleep"
~*~
My dreams contain the best of me
the rest of me, left over from previous love,
love that didn't come to ripened fruition
not to mention the intention
of the sum total of my wishes
that haven't yet been granted
by whoever grants them come true
All of the winks that were waiting
for those darned sheep to finish jumping
so I could calculate the dreams of late
that still elude the slumber waiting
'neath the haystack of fast asleep blues
~...I lose...~
another wide-awake night
insomniac mind-search
of thoughts in lurch
Poetic pandemonium
parades in charade
seeking the ink
of my sleepless think~

Oh dear do I know this feeling Marge..
I keep a pad and pen next to the bed..
just in case I have one of 'these' nights.
Well said...and sweet dreams.

Marge,

I'm so sorry for your lack of sleep and I do trust that the dream granter shall hurry to your side to impart those wonderful wonderful dreams yet to be completed.

Enjoyed reading and God bless.

You, too?  You muse is laughing, "If I can't sleep, nobody sleeps!"  I loved this because I don't think I could ever get it into such evocative words as you do.  Wonderfully poetic and we get to share the results of your sleepless think!

Hugs,

Marge,

Thank you for sending this my way!  I love it!  Now, can I ever relate to this, but perhaps in a different way!  May not be losing sleep to count sheep, but I guarantee you there are a few cows I'd love to count!

I find this to be sad, laced with a tiny bit of wit and humor.  I enjoyed it very much.  Cleverly done.   I think we all have things that we'd like to alter, but just have to wait for whatever to be.  I say, "Ah shucks", but then, a small omen or surprise occurs to give hope again.  If you are like me, I bet you'd like to schedule those surprises so we would count much fewer sheep!

Wishing you well,
miscellanea

Friends~
When muse-of-insomnia comes calling ... might just as well wrestle it ... plop it into the inking well and make some use of it !!

Thank you all for the kindness of your thoughtful replies~
