The door was closed a long time ago
on the far inner reaches of soul
but a flood of pain and love gone astray
has loosed the hinges and bolts
and set it at an angel aligned
with an off-centre viewpoint of life.

Love knocks again, again, and again,
until a heart can’t give what it takes
to open and straighten a lopsided door
with only the power of one.

And God?  There is most surely a God
on the sidelines purported to be
a kindly old soul who can’t interfere
with a really don’t care attitude.

I’m younger than He and prone to be me
so always I’ll knock till I bleed
for I know of the worth and the value
of laying my heart on the floor.

So there it is like a sovereign of old
with value more precious than can be told
so take to the sky through the porthole of mind
and the door will take care of itself.

It will buckle and bend like a true friend
and swing to the music of love
when passion awakes to the thrills and the spills
that only true freedom can bring.

It will be … you!

Well, icebox, love is the light not me but then again I am love, so - thank you. I'm glad to have brightened a day.

LeeJ - While not thinking that your compliment is fully deserved, I nevertheless say a big thank you. If I can "send" something through this medium then I am totally fulfilled.

Martie - Yes, I know you know.

Thanks, Jo!  Closed doors are like closed minds - neither can fly and we have to fly beyond here and now in order to be prepared.  Now, don't you dare ask me, "For what?"

My thanks to Leanne, The Lady, and Linda, for your kind comments.  Sometimes we have to take to the road before taking to the sky but it's all a process.
