Empty cup caught drops
glass flasks
collected some
amassed in gutters
dripping down copper folds
but never a wine cup

The goblet leans
for liquor
but sewers are skewered
for heaven's fall
enumerable sky drops
that coalesce
flow
thought to be alive,
grouped in channels
rivulets
wavy lines in sandy mud
receding into pockets
spaces among the grains

The goblet empties
its red harvest
then renewed
its vineyard fluid
second to heaven's fall
thought alive
would wave again
among grains
and drenched souls.
