The walls are as bare as the day we moved in
I’ve packed just about everything we had
Each little nick knack wrapped in newspaper
All the furniture has been moved

I will miss this house of ours
I’m used to the sounds it makes
I hope whoever moves in will enjoy
The happiness you and I have shared

We lived here for a lifetime
But times has taken you from me
Leaving me here alone
To pack up our memories

It’s going to be hard leaving this place
But it would be harder to stay
The kids have grown and gone
I just can’t bear to exist here alone

One final thing I left to pack
A picture of our special day
Oh, how I wished I were there again
For we’d be together and wouldn’t have to leave this place
