This Life

I play in rote this reed and fife
The essence of the deeds of life
I add my cup of leach and grime
And lay my bones to bleach in time

The irritant has formed a pearl
Within the time of twirl and swirl
A piece of opulence a seed
A mellow note upon a reed

A drop within the living sea
One common change that came to be
A flux within the drifting foam
A tumble weed that came to roam

The consciousness has brought a sigh
And nailed me to a cross of why
This instant in infinite
Seems to me a fantasy

To close to me the smell of new
I cannot see the overview

I love the flow.

Greetings, Sir Tumbleweed!

"I cannot see the overview"

~ I beg to differ, O' Wise One! Your poetry perfectly illustrates your macrocosmic (as well as the microcosmic) view of life. Your eyes not only see, but they SEE!

Loves 'n hugs,
EA

Seymour~

'The irritant has formed a pearl

A mellow note upon a reed'

And if ANYONE could cultivate a pearl
it would be YOU !

Lady
You always brighten my day.

Earth Angel
It even reads like it's coming from an angel.

Marge,
It only takes a little irritation. LOL

If only I could turn my irritants into pearls... at least there'd be some value for all the aggravation? *G*

But... I can always find value in your words, my friend... Beautiful write!!
