Against The Wind

The wind tonight makes me angry,
absence of calm and you,
restless mind and empty heart,
words that never made it through.

I've accepted those years are gone,
the best years of me and youth,
you miss me; funny, I do too,
if you want to know the truth.

You hate that it's ending this way,
well, how do you want it to end?
There is no easy way to walk
and I'm not good at pretend.

I love you and I hate you
regardless of the chaos it brings,
and there's nothing you can do
about either of those things.

It's the only way for this to end;
keep pushing on against the wind.

"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."
Matthew 6: 24

Somehow that was my thought that came to mind, not to preach, just to be kind.

Wonderful words Dixie, of a wonderful soul

a poet who cares

Dixie - I guess in all things it's a push against the wind - what a life!     But a good and enjoyable write - thanks.

a fine write Dixie gal
the wind can be your friend too,
when it blows chaos away from your doorstep

Dixie,
I appreciate your posting but can not print what is in my heart.  This one hit WAY too close to home, on many levels.  I have often thought down these lines.
