icebox poems

                                            little magnets
          words                 all dis
                    connected
except     they paired                      complete  ly
stuck in a block                         when we
       tried to                      pour
         them from                    a             box

  make something                  of
                                         us their
ran                 dom       panes cry
             on               that                  flatland
tablet of              my    refrigerator
                                       they draw
                        stick                    monkey
          like
                             to the                skin
of it

put        enough together and
                                                alter the magnetic
poles
                       meaning one                      does

it         doesn't matter           how
they're                         bunched
                   there is no message            on
the                 ice
                                      box
                                                        none
          real is what                      is
                       inside
                                 inside and          the
fact          of
the          love that
                                        moves
                                them
to be           any                     thing
at           all
                           princess          kiss
and all
                               frogs
                     rejoice

"make something of us"... You never fail to hear those words... and alter our perception with the magic you create. *S*

Excellent work!!!

My daughter had one of those magnet sets in her dorm when she was in school.  Every week, she'd change things around to make poems or funny statements or just messages.  I think you did all that here with your magnetic words, Ed!  You're so clever.   ...jo
