I can not, will not masquerade
my fears and pains from view.
They must come forth, as on parade,
To be embraced by you.

Our relationship, even in its genesis,
must be as though it spanned the years.
As we share the sweetness of each kiss,
We too, must share each bitter tear.

Hand in hand, with ear to heart
That we may know each others soul.
Trust, must be present from the start,
and not some future goal.

I shall not weep 'neath a "macho" mask.
Our emotions must flow free.
I'll not waste time when you should ask
what moves inside of me.

Your pledge must be to yield to me
As I must yield to you.
We both must show, that we might see,
what each is going through.

If this should be too much to ask...
'Tis but a short time that we rest.
We embrace, while pausing in our task,
if true love be our quest.

a man who is not afraid of revealing his fears, as well as accomplishments, but also a man who does not want to compromise his identity...well done, a pleasure to read.

I didn't know there were men like you left Uriah! Nowadays when your knight in shining armor arrives he is on a Harley and expects you to make the payments... but he never actually says so... he just expects you to know. This poem is very refreshing and so are you.
